About Me

Samantha Hallburn is the founder and owner of PBS Accounting and Tax Solutions as well as Simplified Accounting Management, Inc. With over 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, and PR, Sam eventually found her way into banking and lending, working with small business owners across industries. Through her work, she noticed a recurring issue for these businesses: managing their finances and understanding their financial standing. To help address this, Samantha began teaching bookkeeping and providing bookkeeping services to small businesses. In 2015, she decided to leave corporate America and open her bookkeeping firm, aiming to provide a wide range of services at affordable prices to support small business owners.

Since becoming a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor in 2016, Samantha has also become a national Quickbooks Online Educator teaching QuickBooks to accounting professionals and small business owners and their employees. Her passion lies in helping small businesses streamline their operations and workflows while taking the weight of accounting and operations off their shoulders so they can focus on doing what they love as they scale their business(es). With their extensive experience and expertise, Samantha and her team are dedicated to helping small business owners succeed.

Heather’s passion for helping others and her love for technology have shaped her career in public accounting. Her affinity for facilitating change within an organization is paramount to her work, helping businesses design and automate their business processes using cutting-edge technologies. Heather wholeheartedly believes in the power of community and the magic that is created when people work together toward the same purpose.

In addition to her work with Woodard, Heather is the co-host of The Appy Hour with Liz and Heather, a webinar series devoted to demystifying the world of technology and apps in the accounting profession. She is also the co-creator and producer of Appy Hour Camp, a collaborative retreat experience created to connect and nurture the relationship between accounting professional educators and software developers.

Heather was named a categorical top 10 ProAdvisor in 2017 and 2019 and was listed as one of the top influential people in accounting by Accounting Today in 2019.

Karen Lum

As a “Business Co-Pilot”, Karen supports leaders who are growing or elevating their businesses and teams. As a graduate of the University of Washington, Karen has a diverse and intriguing career history, including cutting her customer service chops in the cruise industry, facilitating a multi-state national tech-planning initiative for SBC Communications, to leading large-scale implementations for sales and service teams. She has designed and led trainings for clients including, Continental Airlines, Charles Schwab and Nextel Communications. Prior to starting K. Lum Consulting in 2013, Karen spend 9 years as an executive at Moonlight Basin Resort cultivating the service culture through the development of “Moonlight University”, as well as leading Owner Services and Sales and Marketing for five company divisions.

Karen’s training curriculum is interactive and based on actionable content, designed to create lasting impacts on team culture and business success. She is an intuitive, skilled guide focused on empowering leaders to carve out time to get strategic and thoughtful about their culture, operations, service and brand. As a certified business coach, Karen supports clients to prioritize working ON their businesses, rather than just working IN them; they gain perspective, heightened awareness and actionable steps to improve, scale and succeed. About Me

Katey Maddux is the Founder and CEO of Millennial Accounting, a Miami-based boutique accounting and consulting firm that serves both small businesses and accountants alike. She is a writer, international speaker, avid traveler, and, most recently, host of The Entrepreneur Life Podcast. She aims to serve, inspire and educate entrepreneurs to be better business owners and to provide them with solid financials so that they can have peace of mind and focus on what they do best. When she's not working on one of her many businesses, you can find her salsa dancing, paddle boarding, or planning her next trip abroad. 53 countries down, 142 to go!

Candy Bellau

Prior to founding Kramerica, Candy worked for other consulting firms providing outsourced CFO/Controller and accounting services. She has worked extensively for private firms in the area of general management, overseeing operations and streamlining procedures. Early in her career she worked with a firm focused on acquisitions where she actively participated in the selection and set up of the entities. Her current passion is making her team as happy as they make her and speaking to business and accounting firm owners to help them avoid pitfalls.

In addition to providing oversight for her firm, Candy works with the accounting industry leader, Woodard, as a Coach for their members. As a coach for Woodard, she can reach her mission which mirrors their mission to transform businesses through business advisors. Working with firm owners and sharing her 40 years of industry experience is a win win for all involved.

Candy has always been active in volunteer work on many levels. She has been affiliated with Habitat for Humanity, Peace Corps Namibia, Holidays are for Children, Daytop Village Association, Little Flowers Children Services and was an active participant in helping New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina. Currently she serves as Treasurer of WPC, First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans, Program of Hope and Weishaupt Family Foundation. Candy is happily married to a local hero and together they are raising their amazing daughter to love adventure and laughter. Candy graduated from Dowling College with a BBA in Accounting and a MBA in Corporate Finance.

Rachel Pierret is the founder of Rise Media Agency - a social media marketing agency

designed by accountants for accountants! After graduating with her master's degree in

accounting, she joined the workforce at a mid-sized public tax firm in Dallas. A few busy

seasons went by and Rachel knew she wanted to be a little more creative than

accounting allows for, so she left the profession to work as a social media manager.

After a few years, the Aha moment hit! She realized she could combine her passion for

social media marketing and her hard-earned degree to help accountants build strong

online presences.

Now, Rachel and her team help hundreds of bookkeepers and accountants show up on

social media with content marketing designed to drive engagement and convert

followers into clients! She's passionate about bringing accounting marketing into the 21st

century and leveraging social media as a sales tool. She especially loves supporting

other women in the accounting industry and offering guidance on all things social media
